Andy Roddick's Signature Racquet. The latest update to the slightly heavier and more player-oriented Babolat Pure Drive Roddick, the new Pure Drive Roddick GT (Graphite Tungsten) adds a hybrid of braided carbon fibers and tungsten filaments throughout the entire racquet. Tungsten strengthens the frame to reduce torque for greater precision.

Babolat has kept the specifications on the new Pure Drive Roddick GT virtually the same as the previous generation Pure Drive Roddick Cortex. That is, the Pure Drive Roddick GT remains the definitive tweener (between powerful/controlled) frame. 100 sq. in. head, 11.80 ounce strung weight, and 315 swingweight provide an excellent balance of power, control, and maneuverability. Meant to more closely replicate the weight of Andy's racquet, the Pure Drive Roddick GT provides a little more stiffness and power, provided you are able to handle the additional weight.

Play Tester- For the harder hitting players this is a big improvement on the pure drive. The Roddick version offers only one improvement on the pure drive, stability... My slice backhand and topspin backhand were greatly improved, but more important was the ability to volley. Though the feel and touch isn't changed, just having that extra weight helps tremendously with your touch shots.

Our String Reccomendation- Since most people playing with this racquet will be harder hitters I reccomend some sort of soft polyester. Lux or Technifibre eiter or, and also don't forget about the other string companies you can always find something fun to hit with.
